Terra-cotta contribution documented by Byrne; other attributions need object-level review

Alfonso Iannelli

Architecture and art

What the reviewed record states

Byrne’s 1939 statement says Iannelli formed the exterior terra-cotta designs directly in clay, which were then baked. This is a first-person contemporary account by the architect.

Attributed account

Atkinson’s notes attribute the stained-glass designs and statues of the Blessed Virgin and St. Joseph to Iannelli. The source register also indexes Iannelli correspondence and design material.

Open questions

Connect each window, statue, ornament, and related drawing to its commission and fabrication record. Distinguish design, modeling, supervision, fabrication, and installation.

Sources and research links

A linked folder is a finding aid or source location, not proof that every item in it has been reviewed. Descriptions distinguish source text from independent verification.
