What the reviewed record states

A later parish history says the Chicago firm ‘Byrne and Ryan’ was employed to draw plans for the new church. The record reviewed identifies Ryan only by surname.

Attributed account

This statement is a retrospective account, not an examined firm agreement. Byrne’s own 1939 explanation confirms his design authorship but does not identify Ryan.

Open questions

Locate the firm’s full name, Ryan’s given name and professional role, and any division of design, engineering, and contract responsibility in original agreements, title blocks, and correspondence.
